Family Caregiver Support Program

National Family Caregiver Support Program provides resources to CUSTODIAL family members (such as grandparents raising grandchildren) providing care to children under the age of 18.   


If you are or know a grandparent or caregiver who has CUSTODY and may benefit from support groups, possibly some respite, available funding to assist with approved purchases such as school clothes, etc., please reach out to the  Aging and Disability Resource Center at 270-866-4200 and ask for Rhonda Padilla or Barb Wilham.

Reception Honors Coach Gray Coach Gray

CCHS hosted a reception for Vanessa Gray on Wednesday, Dec. 8, to recognize the 23 years of service she has dedicated to the Cumberland County School District. Coach Gray has served as a teacher of health and physical education at CCMS and CCHS, Panther Virtual Academy teacher, home and hospital instructor, and coached Lady Panther basketball and tennis. Gray has accepted a position at Lyon County High School beginning in January.

BAFA Hosts Christmas Production BAFA

Burkesville Academy of Fine Arts (BAFA) presents A Cumberland Christmas, an original play written and directed by Rachel Cook, Olivia Sells, and Carla Bush, on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 12 at 2:30 p.m. at Living Word Ministries Assembly of God on Hwy. 90 east.

School Receives Donation of Cereal Cereal

Guarantee Pest Control annually collects boxes of cereal to distribute to children in south central Kentucky. Representatives from the company, Burkesville native India Rush Unseld and Jimmy Blankenship, delivered more than 600 boxes of cereal to go home with Cumberland County students.

Athletic Hall of Fame HoF

The Citizens Bank of Cumberland County Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet honored the 2021 inductees on Friday, December 3. Eight athletes were inducted to the Hall of Fame this year: Ricky McPherson, Dudley Gray, Anthony Hurt, Robert Wells Keeton, Craig Smith, Sandra Gray Endris, Steve McDonald, and Terry Alexander.

School Receives GEAR UP Grant Gear Up

Cumberland County School District is pleased to announce that once again we have received a Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) grant. The program funds an array of services aligned to accomplish the goals of lifting education aspirations, building academic skills, connecting academics to college and career, and engaging parents as partners.

Marching Band Finishes Season Band Midstate

The Panther Marching Band placed fourth at the Midstate Marching Band Association competition at Simon Kenton High School on Saturday, November 6, 2021.  They competed against class A bands from Ohio, Tennessee, and Kentucky. 

Rising Educators Rising Educators

Cumberland County students currently enrolled in dual credit teaching and learning pathway and pursuing a degree in education enjoyed a day at Campbellsville University on Monday, November 8 with their Educators Rising advisor, Mrs. Lora Grant. 

Local Educator to Present at National Conference NSTA

CCES teacher of science Nancy Flowers has been selected to present at the National Science Teachers Association Conference November 11-13, 2021.

Last week, school administrators visited CCES, CCHS, and CCMS to conduct instructional walk throughs. At all three schools in our district it is evident that learners are engaged in meaningful work and teachers are committed to providing high-quality instruction and building positive relationships.

Cumberland County School District continues to offer a variety of delicious options to learners as part of each school's nutrition and dining services. Cumberland County Schools serve meals at no cost to all enrolled students as part of Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

Senior Volleyball Members Presented with Keepsake Box Keepsake Boxes

What a kind and thoughtful way to celebrate the accomplishments of volleyball team members from the senior class of '22. Coaches Rob Dyer and Kayla Poole coordinated with students in Kurtis Claywell's wood product manufacturing classes and Melissa Flowers' vinyl shop to create custom boxes to present to each senior on senior night Tuesday. Inside each box, coaches, family members, and school staff wrote notes of encouragement to include alongside newspaper clippings and photos from their past season.  Congratulations to our senior athletes. 

Flags Presented to Schools Sandy Simpson

Sandy Simpson, District Director for 1st District Congressman James Comer, visited with Superintendent of Cumberland County Schools Dr. Kirk Biggerstaff recently. Simpson presented flags previously flown over the capitol to CCHS, CCMS, CCES, and Panther Academy on behalf of Congressman Comer.

Virtual Learning to be Offered Virtual learning will now be an option

Virtual learning will now be an option for students in grades K-12 for the 2021-22 school year. An application will be made available on our Facebook page and district website.
