Chris Norris, One of the all time greats in the history of Cumberland County High School basketball

Chris Norris

One of the all time greats in the history of Cumberland County High School basketball. Chris scored over 1,300 points and grabbed over 1,100 rebounds in his career as a Panther. In 1975 Chris made All-District and All-Region. In 1976 Chris made All-District, honorable mention All-State and was voted team MVP. And in 1977 Chris made All-District, All-Region and honorable mention All-State. Chris was the leading scorer and rebounder on both the 1975-76 and 1976-77 teams that had a combined won/loss record of 51 wins with only 13 losses. Chris played college basketball at Somerset College.

Jennifer Crawley, Jennifer scored over 2,000 career points in her high school basketball career at Cumberland County High School

Jennifer scored over 2,000 career points in her high school basketball career at Cumberland County High School. Jennifer started on the Panther girls basketball team in 1990 when she was in the 8th grade. Jennifer made the All-District team that year, and made All-District the next 4 years also, becoming the first player in Cumberland County High School basketball history to make All-District 5 consecutive years. In 1993 Jennifer also made All-Region 1st team and was voted to the All-Region tournament team. After graduation Jennifer played 4 years at Lindsey Wilson College, scoring 954 career points, grabbing 472 career rebounds and being credited with 189 career assists.

Carl Spear, Sr.

Carl was a high scoring guard for the Marrowbone High School basketball team in the mid-1950’s. Carl was a 4 year starter, scoring over 1,300 points in his career. In 1953 Carl made the All-Region team and helped Marrowbone finish as runner-up in the region. In both 1954 and 1955 Carl was named All-District. In 1955 Carl was nominated to be a participant in the Kentucky/Indiana basketball all star game. In 1972 Carl was voted to the Cumberland County News all time basketball team. After graduation Carl played freshman basketball at Western Kentucky University.

Chad Radford, Two-sport star at Cumberland County High School

Chad Radford

Two-sport star at Cumberland County High School. In basketball Chad made All-District in 1989 and All-District and All-Region in 1990. Chad scored over 1,000 points in his basketball career. Playing baseball Chad made All-District in 1988. In 1989 Chad made All-District, All-Region, All-State, was voted the team MVP for the season and was voted the 4th region player of the year. In 1990 Chad made All-District, All-Region, All-State, was voted team MVP and was ranked as the top player and best hitter in the 4th region. Chad was selected to play in the East-West State all star game in both 1989 and 1990. Chad started for 5 years in baseball and led the Panthers to 5 straight district tournament championships. Chad received a baseball scholarship to Western Kentucky University.

Two-sport star at Cumberland County High School. In basketball Gerald scored over 1,400 points in his career. In 1982 Gerald made All-District, honorable mention All-State and was voted the Most Valuable Player of the All A Classic State Tournament, leading the tournament in both scoring and rebounding. In 1983 Gerald made All-District, All-Region and honorable mention All-State. After graduation Gerald was offered a full scholarship to Trevecca College. In baseball Gerald was a power hitting 4 year varsity starter, playing 3rd base and catcher. He was named to the All-District baseball team in 1982.

Nene is one of the all time great athletes in Cumberland County High School Panther basketball history.

Juanita “Nene” Carter

Nene is one of the all time great athletes in Cumberland County High School Panther basketball history. In 1981 Nene made All-District. In 1982 Nene made All-District and was voted team MVP for the season. Also, in 1982, she was awarded the PCA Golden Goal Award for the year. Nene scored over 1,000 points in her career as a Panther.
